Easy Stove Top Chili

I love chili. The ingredients are simple, but there is also a complexity to chili that comes with slow cooking it all day long.

This isn't my normal "cook all day" chili, but when I am short on time and have hungry kids running all over the house, this tasty stove top chili is perfect! I am not a fan of kidney beans, so I usually use a combination of black and pinto beans, but feel free to use whatever beans you love in this recipe!

This chili is ready in just under 30 minutes, and hits the spot, especially as the days are getting colder and shorter.

Here's what you'll need:

Easy Stove Top Chili

1 lb ground beef

3 cans diced tomatoes

1 can diced green chilis

2 cans beans (drained)

2 cups frozen corn

2 tablespoons dehydrated onions

1 tablespoon dehydrated garlic

2 tbsp chili powder

1 tsp cumin

2 tsp parsley

1-2 tsp salt (to taste)

1/2 tsp pepper

1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder (I know weird...but trust me)

Brown the beef (season with a little salt and pepper) and then add in the onions and garlic.  Cook for about one minute and add in the rest of the ingredients.  Simmer for 20 minutes, taste and add any additional seasonings it may need.  Top with sour cream, chives, and shredded cheddar cheese and enjoy!
